Character Witness

Good morning and Happy Saturday.  As we continue in the month of Character in January based on Ruth 1:15-17 and John 6:64-66, one of the things that happens here in America is a court system that gives people accused of crimes to defend themselves against the charges against them. The courtroom is filled with many different play a part. There is the judge who either has the final say and directs all the action in the courtroom. There is the jury who may be judging the case and who follows the instructions of the judge. There are the lawyers who represent either the city, county, state or federal jurisdictions or the lawyer who is representing the accused. There are law enforcement personnel to make sure things get of hand. Finally there is the person(s) that are accused of the crime. The accused are the ones who need to convince the judge or jury of their innocence and at times they need people to vouch for their conduct. These people are known as Character Witnesses.
To see what a exactly what Character Witness means I am going to find this definition as I googled. Character Witness means as follows; a person who attests to another's moral conduct and good

reputation in a court of law. In my life I have come from a might long way and I still have a lot of work to do but one of the things I must admit is that God has blessed my in so many ways and I am a Character Witness for all he has done for me and the people I love the most.
As we go to the Word of God for this teaching of Character Witness we begin in Deuteronomy 29:2-5. The people of God had disobeyed God and could not enter the chosen land for 40 years but they
still were able to eat,and have clothes and shoes that survived all that time. I was lost and turned out for most of my teen and adult life and there was nothing that could not have changed me but for God's love for me. Character Witness.
As continue in the Word of God for the teaching of Character Witness I go to 2nd Kings 6:11-16. The king of Syria was upset that God allowed Elisha to hear of his plans for war and sent an army to get
Elisha. Elisha trusted that God wold change the situation and he did. As a teen my mom was diagnosed with cancer but these many years later she has been cancer free and that is a reason to celebrate. Character Witness.
As we come to the conclusion of the Biblical portion of this teaching of Character Witness I to go to Hebrews 11:30-39. In these verses we see that each and every time there was something that could
have stopped the people of God, there was God pulling them out and making the situation much better. My Grandmother was on the verge of us thinking she had lost her mind but God allowed her caretakers to see that it was her medication that was doing it and she is still alert, aware and alive. Character Witness.
In conclusion as I used for examples of myself, my Mom and my Grandmother, along with the people in the Bible were Character Witnesses, I could just imagine some of the things that God has brought you out of. Depression, addiction, gambling, and being loose with our mouth and bodies are things that God has brought some of you out of. Homelessness, financial ruin, no transportation and sickness are what God has brought other out from. Do not be afraid to share your testimonies and miracles to others as these are ways you can advance the kingdom of God and how you become and stay a Character Witness for God. I give God all the glory and honor for this teaching. I dedicate this to my Mom, JoAnn Wesley, who takes great care of her Mother and my Grandmother, Ms. Lila Mae Birdsong. Please join me Monday for a teaching called Character in Question, which will be coming from the 2nd base scripture of the this month and that is John 6:64-66. Have a great weekend and enjoy services wherever you attend.
