Reign, Reign, Go Away

Image
Good morning and Happy Friday. As we finish up the month themed Reign in November based on Luke 19:13-14 I think about when I was smaller. In my early years I went to a elementary school that was named Bennet. I went to this school between the grades of 2nd and 4th. The school day started at 9am and 3:15pm it ended. In between around 10am we were allowed to go outside to play for about thirty minutes and this time was called recess. As a child I looked forward to recess with my classmates as a way to let out some energy after being cooped up in a classroom so long. I would be excited to throw a rubber ball against a wall and play some kind of game of baseball. Or riding the merry-go-round until I got dizzy and fall on the ground. Or just causing havoc with my female classmates that time of day was something I looked forward to. The weather conditions had to be where we could go out and not get hurt. So on days that it rained my classmates and I would be stuck in the classroom. We all

It Takes One To Know One

Good morning and Happy Monday all. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. Reign in November based on Luke 19:13-14. As we get ready to close this month out I wanted to focus on something on this the 330th day of the year themed This is Our/Your year. As a child I used to say some  mean things. Now most of the time this occurred while I was away from home either at school or at church but always never in the vicinity of my parents who did not play that. But in the playground I would call various children different names that would not even faze most of them. Because the same children I would say mean things to would say mean things to me or others. By us being children we would recognize the negative part of another child and never compliment or even acknowledge the positive. One of the ways we were mean was telling " yo mama " jokes. Another way was talking about how a person dressed. And lastly there was calling some one a punk

Good morning and Happy Friday. The theme of the month is Reign in November based on Luke 19:13-14. As I have started a new job in the downtown area I am loving it. Each day I get off the train I thank God that I have a job and work in this area. On my way in I have to walk sometimes from the train because of the schedule of the bus and my time frame to get there does not match. Or even sometimes like today I went to go get my friend a lunch and I had to go by this place. Last Saturday I was on the bus and even the bus driver mentioned she was going to this place. I have a soft spot for animals and always wanted a dog even after what happen to King ( Pooh Dog ) when I was younger. This place not only has dogs but a variety of animals that need a home after being abandoned or forgotten about. It hurts my heart to see the dogs caged ( I can see them as I walk past the window ) and with little to no hope of being adopted before they are put to sleep forever. This place is called the Anti

Reign in your Favor

Good morning and Happy Monday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. As we continue to Reign in November based on Luke 19:13-14 I wanted to share something with you all. In 2009 I was working as a Doorman at a prestigious building in Chicago. I was one of the favorite of the residents as I gave them the best customer service I could give them which to me was the best in all the land. Although I worked at 175 W. Jackson full time I gave this building the same great service even as I worked part-time. My fame of a Doorman was going across all of the areas that needed a Doorman. Eventually when a replacement was going to be needed for a full time position I would be next in line. But in 2009 something happened that changed all that. I was suddenly removed from my position as a Doorman at the building and was told I could not come back. I had worked hard and had lost a position I had always wanted. Back then I questioned God about how this cou

Reign in the Atmosphere

Good morning and Happy Friday. As we still Reign in November a funny thing happened to me today. I was walking downtown and it was about six in the the morning. In the state of Illinois we observe the daylight savings time as far as to keeping time. So here in Illinois it is the time that daylight is starting to come from behind the darkness. In Illinois this time of the year the weather goes from lukewarm to downright cold. So most of the people you see in passing by are either wrapped up well in coats and hats or have scarfs and gloves on to the point you cannot recognize them. When I worked in the downtown area of Chicago I met a lot of people because of how I treated them. I worked in condos and apartments and office buildings and every where I go people remember me. So this morning a man who previously worked in a building I worked in saw me getting ready to walk across the street as soon as the traffic cleared. He was covered up from head to toe in clothing but one thing I saw

Good morning. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. Based on Luke 19:13-14 the theme of the month is Reign in November. As we start this week in America there is the anticipations of elections. There will be elections for congressional seats, judicial seats and even other issues will be on some ballots. But the most important election will be for the presidency of the United States of America. Regardless of which candidate is elected there is going to be changes in this country. As a  supporter of one candidate I cannot be discouraged if my candidate does not win. As a supporter of one candidate I cannot gloat if my candidate wins. There has to ba a level ground. In life there are times when you go into battle with things and they get the best of you. That is a fact. In life there are times when you get the best of some situations. That is a fact also. But whether you are winning or losing at any particular point you have a responsibility

Good morning and Happy Thursday. Brand new month. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. As begin another month I think back to a game we used to play when I was a youth. It was King of the Hill. In the game King of the Hill a person literally stood on a level of ground that was higher than ground level. That represented the hill as it most times was a mound of dirt or grass that we used for the so-called hill. In this game the object was to stay on top of the hill at the end of the game to be called King of the Hill. Most times we all followed the rules and allowed who ever was the one who was the on  top of the hill at the end of the day be the King until we returned to play the game again. On day I happened to win the game and I was happy I would occupy the title of King of the Hill until we played again. But one of the guys who played the game refused to acknowledge that I to occupy the title of King of the Hill until we played again because I believed
