DIET TIME

Good morning and Happy Friday. Brand new month. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. On this the 153rd day of the year 2012 I have to be honest with myself. In the past few years I have put on a lot of weight. When I was in my teens and early 20's I could eat some things and even drink some things that would not put a lot of weight on me. In those years I would drink a case of beer as if it were water but that would be after being on the basketball courts for hours. I could hang out with Darrell Chaney and Michael Jones until the early morning because we would take a bike ride on the lakefront of Chicago frequently. I could smoke weed and cigarettes daily but still be able to focus on my studies at school and my chores at home because if I did not I would get a whipping or worse would not get my allowance. But those years are gone and my ability to lose weight as been tempered by age and being lazy as I used any excuse not to exercise so I can lose t

Mary Mary Quite Contray, How Does Your Garden Grow

Good morning and Happy Tuesday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. As we get ready to close this month out I got to thinking about something. This time of year in the city of Chicago there is not a lot of land to plant big crops like in other places. Most of the citizens of this city came from the southern states. So they appreciate growing things like flowers and even food. Now the first 3 months of the year in Chicago are generally cold so you really cannot plant anything as the seeds will not take hold. In April the ground gets a little softer as the rains comes and makes this the ideal time for planting your seeds. So most times in May you can see the flowers or the food getting ready to take shape. It is not nearly ready to be placed in a vase or even to began to be eaten. But there is a like a excitement of expectancy as you see how the garden is coming along. In fact I have heard many times people tell others about the progress o

Don't Get High On Your Own Supply

Good morning and Happy Thursday. When I was in my early 20's I worked at a governement agency in the downtown Chicago area. My aunt was the one who helped me obtain this job. I was still in college and still lived at home with my parents. I had worked before but mainly as a janitor for the church. Now working in the downtown area was different because at the agency I worked at it was mostly women. with me being in my early 20's I had been around women my age or younger but never this many that were older than me other than when I was church. I was considered cool and someone people could talk to but I would never give advice or judge anyone. By me being a great listener I would hear stories about how the married women were in very unhappy marriages. Or rhe ones who had boyfriend who they could not stand. Or the single women who just wanted to be with some one or dreamed to get married. This agency had few men working there so I could either be true to myself and adhere to my

Good morning and Happy Monday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. On this the 142nd day of the year 2012 we press forward and onward. Over the last 2 years I have embraced social media as bear would embrace honey. I took the lesson learned in life and brought them out in a funny way at times and at times serious. I was able to connect with others, from grammar school, Second Mt. Vernon which is my old church, neighborhood people like John Ellebb and Carey Wade, the 22 crew, my guy from the 79 Sweet C. Harris and of course the Wesley/Black and Birdsong/Heard members of my family. At times I have inboxed this question to certain people or at times this has been a primary focus on my facebook postings because it places the ball in your court. And the best thing about it you can only answer it yourself as you are the only person who knows the answer even if you are married, with a significant other, single, are a twin or a triplet or even h

Put Your Weapons Down

Good afternoon and Happy Friday. I was siting with my friend's grandmother the other day and she started watching some television programs that I had seen before in my lifetime. The shows were Gunsmoke and Bonanza. In each of these shows, by them being westerns, the show contained many violent content. It made me remember that although I was not a big westerns fan I loved shows coming up like Cannon, Columbo, my favorite, and Murder She wrote. Now the more popular shows are Criminal Minds and CSI. Each of these shows have a violent content that keeps viewers in the past, present or future watching them to see how the bad guy gets caught. Many times the bad guy has a weapon to make his criminal act more credible in the eyes of the person viewing the show and the nature of the crimes they were committing. But more time than not the so called bad guy was either caught or cornered and had only one option before the scene escalated to a whole other level. That action was for the perso

Good morning. Brand New Week. Brand New Attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. My name is Fred Wesley. This my first story for my new blog. I had wanted to create a blog for a long time as I was the subject of someone's blog ( Security Guards Get It by Charlie Judy ) and wanted for the longest to start my own. I had only asked one person though as she had no idea on how to do this. So I went to a familiar friend and he helped me realize that doing a blog was useless. You can be the same person, keep the status quo weekly, and keep that attitude of not caring about nothing but yourself and what you want and all will be well. This friend has been in my corner since I was in my early teens. He has never given good advice nor has been in my corner when things went astray. But I listened anyway. But now I am taking a class that encourages the use of social media to get your messages across and the blog was one of the ways to get the message out. So in doing so I ha
