Loose Your Influence

Good morning and Happy Monday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. As I post this last blog in the month of  Loose in February based on Joshua 5:15, Judges 15:14 and Mark 11:4-5 I want to convey a story that was told to me on yesterday. There is a certain young man who buys this young lady lunch everyday. This young man has been going to several restaurants across the city he lives in to feed this young lady. The young man has made choices on his own to feed this person and the young lady has been accepting. In the course of the young man feeding the young lady something has happened to the young lady that the young man never realized that could happen. The young woman has gained weight. The food that the young man has given the young woman has been good but it also has been rich in calories which has not been healthy for the her. In my life I have been fed and fed people some unhealthy things because of how I was influenced or how I inf

Good morning and Happy Saturday. As we are still  Loose In February based on Joshua 5:15, Judges 15:14 and Mark 11:4-5 I want to tell you something that completely blew me away. I was talking to a man who I thought was a dog walker, which actually is a big business in the downtown Chicago area, who had come into the building I work in a cast. I had not seen him in a while and I had to ask what happened. The man had told me that he was actually walking his dog late at night one day and earlier in the day it had snowed and the temperatures had dropped to freezing the snow in some areas into ice. The man fell and by it being late at night when he fell saw that there was no one to help him. Not only was his leg broken but he would probably freeze to death since he had worn a jacket instead of a coat. Suddenly out of nowhere comes a homeless who helps him to his feet and and takes him into his building and into his condo. This homeless man actually sleeps on the steps of a church every ni

Good morning and Happy Monday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. As we continue in the month of Loose In February based on Joshua 5:15, Judges 15:14 and Mark 11:4-5 I go back to when I was about 13 years old. While I was growing up attending Wendell Smith Elementary and going to Second Mt. Vernon M.B. Baptist Church there was too things that were taboo back then. One was teenage pregnancy and the other was drugs. Although I had a girlfriend back then and we were alone at times that it could have been a issue with a baby being born there was not one conceived. The other issues was drugs. Marijuana was coming into popularity back then and I being not around that lifestyle because my parents were not always heard about grass. I often wondered what was the big mystery about grass. We had  backyard full of it and wondered what qualities about grass could make people high. I knew how to roll cigarettes because I watched my Dad so I went a gr

Good morning everyone and Happy Friday. As we are still  in the month of Loose In February based on  Joshua 5:15, Judges 15:14 and Mark 11:4-5 I wanted to share something. Each and everyday I walk through a neighborhood that is in decline. On my block alone there are at least 10 boarded up houses. In my building when the washer and dryer went out for a day I had to go to the closet laundromat and had to deal with those who work in the place having their friends come over for a early morning drink and smoke. This particular laundromat was also strange because it was connected to the a building that was abandoned. The laundromat could not have been bigger that a small room and it had old washers and dryers and the change machine would only change a dollar. I had never even saw a sign that even had the name of the laundromat. But there was one things I noticed the workers constantly did, each time that a person came in and left out of the laundromat they locked the door. I asked them wh

Good morning everyone. As we continue in the month of Loose In February based on Joshua 5:15, Judges 15:14 and Mark 11:4-5 I look at a something that has been going on for a long time. Many have children and those who do not have family members that have children. We love our children when they are infants as we dress them, feed them and nurture them at this age. There is nothing they could do wrong at this age. We also love our parents as they have taken care of us all of their lives, loving on us, showing how to be adults and even going that extra mile for their grandchildren. What I have noticed is that once children reach a certain age and start thinking in ways that differ from us we say that they will never amount to nothing. Or when are parents get old and can hardly take care of themselves we act like this is a burden. Often times when you say or speak something it comes into existence because God hears all. We have see the good in everybody or we can watch the youth and our

Loose in the Wind

Good morning and Happy Monday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. As you already know the theme is the Year of the Wind based on Exodus 14:21 and Acts 2;2-4. The theme for the month is Loose in February based on Joshua 5:15, Judges 15:14 and Mark 11:4-5. So in thinking of a story to combine the yearly theme with the monthly theme I looked back to a time that I spent in Gately Park with my Father. I don not remember how old that I was but I remember that he and I went to the park so I could learn how to fly a kite. When I was younger this was a big things and you just had to have the best kite. My parents bought me one of the best kites. We tied the strings to the kite and me being me I ran with the kite in my hand but nothing happened and I almost caused damage to the kite. My Father grabbed me by the hand and showed me how to properly fly the kite. I had to have the kite go in the opposite direction of the wind in order to fly. But onc

Good morning and Happy Saturday. As we transtion from one month to the next we still are in the Year of The Wind based on Exodus 14:21 and Luke 8:39. The first month was a focus on knowing the goodness of God and what he has done and telling others. This month is significant to me becaue in America it is the celebration of Black History Month. As I post daily on Facebook every month I have learned a lot about this subject. Some of the people I have posted about I had never heard of them while I was growing up. I found out that there have been some caring people of other races who have helped Blacks as the were held as slaves and as they were being discriminated against. In looking at the past the people who were held in slavery were hungry for one thing and that was freedom. To those working in chain gangs or those who worked in the house there wanted out of the situation they were in. In looking at the second month of the year there are things that seem to want to hold onto us like
