Maybe We Are Not Getting It (Traditionally Speaking)

Image
Good morning and Marvelous Monday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. As we come into this final teaching of the month of Corrective Action in June based on Deuteronomy 8:1-5, 2nd Samuel 16:9-12 and 1st Corinthians 11:23-26 when I worked on the chassis line of Ford Motor Company my main job responsibility consisted of hanging rear brakes. But that was not all that I had to do. Another thing that I had to do was make rear station wagon arms for the person who built made the whole assembly. Traditionally this was done when there was a station wagon approaching and it was easier to put those types of brakes up. One day I decided to against the traditional way to do this and came in early to make up enough rear station wagon arms to last the whole night and it made my job easier. In the area of religion there are so many things that have become tradition that is not actual what we are supposed to be doing. Maybe We Are Not Getting It (Tradi

You Can't Always Get What You ( But God Will Give You What You Need)

Good afternoon and Happy Saturday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited As we continue in the month of Corrective Action based on Deuteronomy 8:1-5, 2nd Samuel 16:9-12 and 1st Corinthians 11:23-26 I remember when I worked at this government agency and I met this lady named Tonya W. Now at this government agency there were way more men than women and being a younger man at the time I was looking very good to some of the women there. And for those that really know me I also have a outgoing personality. So when I met Tonya W. we became fast friends and started to hang out at work together and having lunch. At the time I could not see that she was catching feelings for me and it was not something that I wanted from her because I was engaged during this time. Tonya W. wanted more than could give her. Many times in my walk of faith I want more than God is willing to give you but he makes sure he fills my needs. You Can't Always Get What You

Complaint Department

Good afternoon and Happy Tuesday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited As we continue in the month of Corrective Action based on Deuteronomy 8:1-5, 2nd Samuel 16:9-12 and 1st Corinthians 11:23-26 there is something that bothers me. There are times that I have been inside the four walls of the church and have heard things that were said negatively that I could not believe it. Like I heard a comment about how the church does not respond to the needs of every member and that they only help the "special ones". About how churches are tuning away from traditional things that we were used to and how that is hurting the Body of Christ as a whole. Then the statement really upsets me is that the minister is looking out for his best interest and not that of the congregation. It seems like the church today has turned from something positive to the Complaint Department In going to my source of definitions to define the word complaint I go

Obedience to God ( The Attribute of a Father)

Good afternoon and Happy Sunday. One this day that we celebrate Fathers I am so happy that I had my Father ( whom I am pictured with) in my life. This man worked at Ford Motor Company as a tradesman (welder) for over 30 years. As most people know that being in skills trades you make a nice amount of money and my Father worked as many hours as he could. He worked on the weekends and on holidays. He would come home sometimes. nap for a couple of hours and then head right back out the door to head to work. It would be times that I would never see him. The one constant time that I saw him was when it was time for church every Sunday. My Father would be tired as any should be working those hours and would be excused for not going to church. But that was not the will of what God wanted him to do for his family and one thing that I admire about my Father is his Obedience to God ( The Attribute of a Father). As I go into this teaching I want to define the word obedience and I am going

.No Need To Answer

Good afternoon and Happy Tuesday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited As we continue in the month of Corrective Action based on Deuteronomy 8:1-5, 2nd Samuel 16:9-12 and 1st Corinthians 11:23-26 I used to live in apartment complex with my ex- girlfriend Tonia P. Across the street from our apartment stayed a lady that could not stand me and she would show it on her face with her reactions when she saw me. So one day by chance I was sleeping on the couch I heard this woman talking to my neighbor Keith in a loud voice and cussing up a storm. I did not bother to get off the couch because I was so tired but then I heard something that caught my attention as well as Tonia P. This woman was saying my name and calling me every bad name that you can imagine. Tonia P looked at me and wondered what I was going to do. If I known what I did know I would have followed this advice. No Need To Answer. You see I was probably already a little drunk and

Fred and the Beanstalk (Magic Beans Syndrome)

Good afternoon and Happy Saturday. As we continue in the month of Corrective Action based on Deuteronomy 8:1-5, 2nd Samuel 16:9-12 and 1st Corinthians 11:23-26 one of my favorite things I liked as a child was children's stories. I loved as my mother or grandmother read them to me. One of my favorites was originally written in 1807 but the one that is most popular comes from the book called English Fairy Tales written by Joseph Jacobs in 1890. The story from this book is Jack and the Beanstalk. If you are not familiar with this story let me fill you in on some of the details. You see Jack and his Mother lived together and did not have much of value but a cow. When the cow was unable to give milk anymore, Jack's mother sent him to town to sell cow. Jack meets an old man, trades the cow for some magic beans, brings them to his mother who throws them out and eventually a beanstalk grows. You see I in many ways was once Jack. I thought that money would make my problems disappear.

Follow Instructions (Corrective Actions of Jesus

Good morning and Marvelous Monday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. One of the great things that a man likes to do is to be able to fix things. It may be working on a car or building a deck or putting together a cabinet or table. These are things that some men have been taught how to do or been told how to do them. One of the ways they are taught is by someone who has done it before. If I want to learn how to change oil in a car the best way for me to do that is to have someone teach me how. If I want to build a deck the best way for me to do it would have to have someone show me how. And if I want to assemble a cabinet or table if there is someone who has done this before it will this much easier. One of the reasons that we as the Body of Christ cannot become a bigger force in the world is that we want to do things ourselves and will not Follow Instructions ( Corrective Actions of Jesus). In coming into this teaching I want to def

Our Father Provides Corrective Actions

Good morning and Finally Friday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited As we continue in the Year of Our Father based on Isaiah 64:7-9, Luke 11:2-4 and 1st John 3:1-3, and the month of Corrective Action based on Deuteronomy 8:1-5, 2nd Samuel 16:9-12 and 1st Corinthians 11:23-26 I will give a little more insight about me. I was one of those people who never wanted to leave the comforts of staying with my parents. I had it made. I could work and keep most of my money to myself. I could go kick it with the guys and come home whenever I wanted to. I could go out with or meet a woman and not even bother to come home. I did not have to check in with anybody and the only rule that I had was to go to church every Sunday. But that was too much for me and I rebelled against that. Eventually my rule breaking caused me to fall out of favor with my parents and they issued Corrective Actions. As members of the Body of Christ when we step out line we lose

Good afternoon and Happy Monday. Brand new month. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. As we move into the new month we have already made our lives Drama Free in January based on 1st Kings 3:23-28 and Mark 12:13-17 and then Renewed in February based on Psalms 51:10-13, Isaiah 40:28-31 and Ephesians 4:20-24. Onboarding in March based on Deuteronomy 6:5-9, John 10:25-30 and 1st  Corinthians 1:18-24. In April we petitioned God to Hear Our Prayers based on 2nd Chronicles 6:38-40, Psalms 130:1-6 and Daniel 9:16-19. And last month we basked in the Evidence of Our Faith based on Acts 4:15-17, Philippians  1:12-14 and Hebrews 11:1-3. So as we begin a new month and get ready to come to the end of the first half of the year there are some things that I am still doing wrong and that is throwing me off course of doing the work that God wants me to do. So God provided me with this theme that I am going to share with you and that is Corrective Action in June. As I
