Good morning and Happy Friday all. As we all know the theme for the month is Move in January based on Genesis 12:1-3, Ezekiel 37:10-13 and Matthew 26:52-54 I remember when I was younger and I was growing up on the West Side of Chicago. The church ALL of my family attended was 2nd Mt. Vernon M.B. and it was located on 18th and Avers. As a youth I loved to attend that church and even when my parents finally moved away from the West Side we rode as a family to church every Sunday.The services were off the chain as it did not matter if it was Pastor Anderson or visiting Pastors like Reverend O.C. Brand or Reverend Marshall. When Pastor Anderson died and my godfather took over the ministry, Reverend Patton the congregation was becoming bigger than the church could hold as I said my entire family went there and then came the Dunlaps and the McCrays. It was time to leave the West Side as God had the ministry growing. In our lives God has some things in the latter part of this month that will not only move you but have you Moving On Up.
There are things in our lives that have seemed stagnant too long. It may be that you have been in relationship with drama too long. Or it could be that you have stayed at a job too many years with no advancement. God
has never wanted for any of us to be at one place that is not fruitful or beneficial. He moved Adam and Eve out of Eden when it was fruitful for them to be there. He moved Noah to build and ark when the world was not beneficial to each other. God sees all and hears all. In keeping the faith are now being answered of better. Coming from the first base scripture of the month Genesis 12:1-3 this blog will affirm what has been already done. We are Moving On Up.
As we are Moving On Up I want to begin in the Word of God and Genesis 12:1. This verse is the beginning of something special. You see Terah who was Abraham's father was a worshiper of idols ( Joshua 24:2 )
and according to Jewish lore a idol maker. This would have made Abraham the heir to his father's business. If you are to Move on Up you may have to leave that family or that business that is not of God. We are Moving on Up.
In looking at the Word of God to find the next example of Moving on Up I go to Genesis 12:2. In this verse another awesome Word from God. He told Abram ( not yet Abraham ) that not only will he make his name
great but also will make him a blessing. Many of us can bless so many by starting that social media site, or getting involved with things of the government to help others or teaching you how to hone their skills in arts and entertainment. God will bless you and make your name great if you trust him. Moving On Up.
In looking at the last example of Moving On Up I go the Word of God and Genesis 12:3. In this passage it tell Abram that I will bless ALL who bless you and that your enemies who wish you ill will are not going to
even matter. As you get into the educating those to the Word of God you will be blessed. As you move religion out of the doldrums and into technology but not taking away the message you will be blessing everyone all over the earth and those who cannot understand or hate God has something for me. We have to go. Moving On Up.
In closing the faith of Abram had him receive his promises. All throughout the Bible you hear the name Abraham. The promises are their for us as well as Christ came to ensure that though we have sinned his birth provided a newness ( Luke 1:28-34 ). God sent his son Jesus so that his name could be great and all those who associate with Jesus will have a great name and untold of blessings ( John 11:38-44 ). And Jesus had to shed his blood on the cross so our enemies could not prevail and so that all on this earth could be blessed ( Mark 15:33-39 ). 2nd Mt. Vernon was faithful to God when we Moved On Up and followed the plan God had for us our body of Christ was strong and mighty. And although I have moved on to Valley Kingdom Ministries International I still have mad love for my old place of worship. They taught me the proper steps of Moving On Up.
