Conflict Resolution

Good morning and Happy Friday. As we finish the month of More in March based on Exodus 1:12 and 2nd Peter 1:19-21 I want to share with you all something that recently happened in my life. I am taking college courses online through a Capella University. One of the course I recently took and received a grade of A was Conflict Resolution. In this course it taught us that conflict was inevitable so we might as well embrace it and then deal with it. Most of the larger business organizations embraces conflict as it generates competition among employees and that in turns provides fresh ideas and products to be sold to make a profit. Conflict happens all over the world and how it is looked at can be helpful in how it is resolved. I learned a lot when I took this class because it made me look at all of the conflict I have had in my life and had not resolved it. I still had bitter feelings at those who laughed at me, mocked me and thought I would never be anything. But when God is the head of your life he is the ultimate Conflict Resolution.
In looking up the words conflict and resolution I go to my source of definitions and that is of course Dictionary.com. The word conflict means as follows; to come in collision, be contradictory or in opposition.
The word resolution means as follows, the act of determining upon an action, method or procedure. In the world we live in many people of faith are in a collision about how the areas religion and family should be acted  upon in this day and time and what actions should be taken.  Many of the people of faith are contradictory about how the areas of social media, arts and entertainment and businesses should be acted upon and what methods should we take. Most people of faith are in opposition in the areas of government and businesses should acted upon and what procedures we should take. In the next three paragraphs I will use examples of conflict in the Word of God and show how it was resolved to become a Conflict Resolution.

In looking in the Word of God for Conflict Resolution I go to the Numbers the 12th chapter. In this chapter we see conflict with religion and family. Moses has married a Ethiopian  wife and family, Aaron and Miriam
question the religious value of this marriage. Today we have the same questions by our families who question many of our choices in ways that are conflicting. Today there are churches that will not even acknowledge that change is needed and will say things conflicting in this area. There is a collision with action.  It is not for us to continue conflict. There is a need for God to be the Conflict Resolution in these areas. In this passage Miriam caused the people to not be able to move for seven days because of her disobedience. And Aaron should have know better. God is our Conflict Resolution.

In next example in the Word of God I look at 1st Kings 14:1-17. King Jerobaum has sinned heavily against God but wants the prophet Ahijah to help him heal his son. We people of faith have to be active in changing
how media, arts and entertainment and education is portrayed but we continue to support social media websites that have pornography, support shows that have sexual innuendo and foul language and are not even active in any part of the education process of the youth. We are contradictory with our methods. It is not for us to continue conflict. Ahijah who could not see had God tell the wife of King Jerobaum not only will his son die but he will also lose his kingdom as well. God once again showed he is the ultimate Conflict Resolution.

In my last example in the Word of God about Conflict Resolution I go to Acts 4:5-24. We see where the government did not like the words that Peter and John were saying because it affected their businesses and
wanted to shut them up. Today we as a people of faith are allowing government to change laws that affect how things should be done and supporting businesses that contribute to the politicians to help change the laws. We are in opposition about what procedures to use. Peter and John did not stop because they had God as their Conflict Resolution.
In closing we have to be able to trust in God to resolve conflict we have with each other and with the world. We must support our families by not condemning them but offering love even if their choices are not what we think they should be. We can support other organizations by just not saying anything and praying if we are conflicted with their choices. We can start our own social media websites and invite those who do not know God to take a look at it. We can support arts and entertainment programs of other churches to further spread the gospel. We can really get involved in our education process and bring prayer back in the classroom. We can write our elected officials so at least know who we are. We can support faith based businesses with our going to buy from them. We have the collision action, the contradictory method, and the opposition procedure with God who is our Conflict Resolution. I give God all the glory for any of my writings. Bless all those who may read this. Please join me for my next blog which will be the theme for April.
Have a great Resurrection Weekend.
