Loose In February

Good morning and Happy Saturday. As we transtion from one month to the next we still are in the Year of The Wind based on Exodus 14:21 and Luke 8:39. The first month was a focus on knowing the goodness of God and what he has done and telling others. This month is significant to me becaue in America it is the celebration of Black History Month. As I post daily on Facebook every month I have learned a lot about this subject. Some of the people I have posted about I had never heard of them while I was growing up. I found out that there have been some caring people of other races who have helped Blacks as the were held as slaves and as they were being discriminated against. In looking at the past the people who were held in slavery were hungry for one thing and that was freedom. To those working in chain gangs or those who worked in the house there wanted out of the situation they were in. In looking at the second month of the year there are things that seem to want to hold onto us like a parasite and suck the life out of all us and it is just 32 days into the year 2013. This is not what we are expected or going to have. We ask that God changes things this month. I want to be Loose in February.
In Chicago we are being held hostage by all the shootings that are happening. In the month of January alone there has been at least 42 shooting deaths and there is virtually a shooting everyday. Haydiyah just 15 years
old was killed as shown in the video above. There is a epidemic of guns, drugs, sex and violence that continues to spiral out of control. Most of us are thankful that I houses have gotten broken into rather have gotten shot. Neighborhoods have so many foreclosed houses on them that the young men who are hustling can hide their guns and drugs on these properties and also set up shop at these abandoned homes. My parents had parents that we born in better conditions. It is time that we are Loosed In February.
As I begin to Loose In February I am going to the Word of God to get some spiritual references to stand by this month. These are going to be the base scriptures for the month. The first is Joshua 5:13-15. In this

Joshua sees that God has sent a captain of the angels to see Joshua. The angel told Joshua one thing. Loose your shoes you are Holy ground. People of God any and every place we set our foot is Holy ground and we have angels all around us. When we loose the power of God as one there would nothing impossible to do.

As I want to continue to Loose In February I want to use this as another base scripture. I go to Judges 15:12-14. In this passage Samson has rocked the boat so to speak. He dared to challenge the rule of  the
of the gangbangers of his day, the Philistines. We cannot continue to be ruled by these young men and woman who pay know property taxes but continue to rule are neighborhoods. The enemy is handing us over to the gangbangers and we are not doing nothing but depending on the police who are undermanned and most likely scared as well. In times like these as he did Samson God will loose our hands when we ask him.

In my last example from the Word of God to Loose in February I got Mark 11:4-6. In this passage Jesus has sent two disciples to go loose a colt that he would need to ride into town and fulfill a prophecy. We do

not always have to be the one who comes into a place and demanding all the attention. Sometimes we have to loose the colt so others can come in and do what God has for them to do. Jesus sent a pair to loose the colt. We need each other. I certainly need you because I stay in a hood that has had its share of shootings.
In closing until we loose our minds and go in and change some areas we will not be able to loose the mind of the ones who thinks that violence is the answer. We must change the areas of arts and entertainment, social media, business, family, religion and education. I say this often because the status quo has been shifted to the enemy. I want to be free and I want my children to be free as well. Loose In February. To God be the glory. Join me next week for my next blog called Loose in the Wind. Have a great Weekend.
This a picture of Dr. Roland E. Wesley. One of the patriachs of the Wesley family.
