Good morning and Fabulous Friday. As I continue with teaching on a limited basis I wanted to take you one Sunday night that happened sometime in the early 2000's. It the end of one those weekends I had become known for. It was filled with taking a couple of snorts of cocaine to begin the day to augment the joint I would smoke that morning that was followed by the cigarette that I had to have following those things. The liquor store opened at 8 am in Dolton Illinois and I had to get my newspaper as well to read. I would cook breakfast and dinner for me and my girlfriend at the time Tonia P,, and be done about 12:45 pm. I would be drunk and high and passed out by 2 pm and wake up at 5 pm with a cup of alcohol still in my hand and begin this process again until about 8 pm so I could function at work the next day. . But this night was different as I felt that what I was doing was not living life and there had to be other things to do. I had to make some changes. I had to Reset. As...

Character Trait (Never Give Up)

Image
Good morning and Marvelous Monday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. From the time that I woke up until the time I went to my second job I was presented with many things. And of all the things that I was going through there were three people I knew who were going through some thing as well. I could not figure out why they came to me for I am no counselor by no means. Although you can confide in me and I will keep it to myself, I still am not in a degree program for doing therapy on people and can only listen with a few head bobs and a lot of "oh that's a shame". But the one thing that seemed to prevalent was that each of the problems that were told to me with was how people wanted to give up for difference reasons because of various things. And I wanted them to recognize that inside of them there was something that they needed to tap into, and that was a Character Trait (Never Give Up). In this teaching I am going to u...

The Character of a Champion ( In Memory of Joseph Wesley

Image
Good evening and Marvelous Monday. Brand new week, Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. As I am writing this teaching my eyes are welling up with tears. One of the greatest men in my life has departed and we have, my family and I, have said our goodbyes to him. My Uncle Joseph Wesley left this earth on 10-11-16. The home going services were wonderful and everyone spoke well, sung well and afterwards even ate well. While I did not have a chance to speak, one of the things that I knew that I was going to do was to honor him with this memorial teaching which is going to be about him. It is aptly named for what he was about and who he embodied, The Character of a Champion. As I come into this teaching I want to define the two key words in this teaching, character which means as follows, qualities of honesty, courage and integrity, and champion which means, a person who has defeated all opponents. Joseph Wesley character was that of all of the words tha...

Our Farther Needs You To Develop Others

Image
Good afternoon and Happy Monday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future unlimited. As we begin the last teaching based on the theme the Year of Our Father based on Isaiah 64:7-9, Luke 11:2-4 and 1st John 3:1-3 when a person joins the Armed Services of America, rather male or female they go in with the expectancy of being developed into a trained killer. Now they may come out with different skills such as engineering and ability to fly airplanes and even successful business people but inside of them there is always the killer in them that has been developed. One of the things that happens when you join the Body of Christ you developed to begin to do the same for others. That's our mission despite the other things that we receive or are blessed with. Our Father Needs You To Develop Others. When I first joined the Body of Christ as a young boy I was just happy to be baptized and in the presence of other believers. But with people such as my Aunt Jose...

Light At The End Of The Tunnel (For Such a Time Such As This)

Image
Good evening and Marvelous Monday. As we come to the month of For Such a Time As This based on Esther 2:7-9, 3:2-3,5 and 4:10-11,13-14 one of the places that seemed to scary for me to drive when I had a car was a tunnel located on the expressway going towards the airport. The tunnel was not that big and had some lights but it was still mostly dark. When I finally got from under the tunnel there more light than before and it was better driving conditions. There are so many people who have no relationship with Christ and are going through some things that they have no clue to come out of it. We as the Body of Christ have to be that Light At The End Of The Tunnel (For Such a Time As This). When I was a teen I was in a tunnel in my life. I wanted to not be part of any light and wanted to not only be part of the darkness but wanted to excel in the darkness. I came from a good family but began to use drugs, sell drugs and become part of society that people did not like. I lived this ...
