Identity Theft.

Good afternoon and Thankful Thursday As we continue in the month of Going Global in July based on Psalms 50:10-12, Mark 16:15-18 and 1st John 4:4-6 growing up in a home that held God in reverence meant that I had to do things according to the rules of the house. As a boy I did not mind this because as sure as the sun shined so was my eagerness to go to church and learn more about God. To me the experience of worshiping with my extended family and members of the church whom were like family was like no other I would ever have in my life. I loved Sunday School and the excitement of the services of church on Sunday would be relayed to others as I played in the playground or in class room. Oh how I loved Jesus because he first loved me was my song. The one day out of the blue I was faced with choices that took me into the world and out of the body of Christ. I was a victim of Identity Theft.
See  as I got older I saw the ways of the world as being very attractive to me more so than the rules and regulations of being a Christian. I could not only be around my neighborhood friends but I could also be like
them. They did not even have to go to church and were doing quite well. Their identity was something that appealed to me at the time. I did not even know at the time I was becoming a victim of Identity Theft.

As I look in the Word of God I see in 2nd Samuel 15:1-11. In this passage after being forgiven by King David who was his father, Absalom betrayed him and committed Identity Theft and took his kingdom. My
kingdom began to crumble at age 12 when I took my first pull off a cigarette. I was beginning to lose my Christian identity and was becoming more like the world in my actions. I was a victim of Identity Theft.
As I moved forward in this teaching of Identity Theft I go to the Word of God and to 1st Kings 11:1-8. After God had made King Solomon one of the greatest kings ever Solomon turned towards the ways of the
of the world and even built high places for his wives so they could worship their gods. At age 13 I had my first beer and taste of alcohol. I was beginning to lean closer to the world and becoming a victim of Identity Theft.
In looking at the last example of Identity Theft in the Word of God I go to John 18:15-18 and 25-27 Peter was questioned about being connected to Jesus. Peter denied the man who walked on water and healed
many who believed in him. I was losing myself because at age 14 I was beginning to experience marijuana and sex. I was growing up way to fast and losing all my ties to God and his favor. I was a victim of Identity Theft.
In conclusion I went on to become one of the biggest sinners there ever was. Drugs, women, running game, being slick, thinking only of myself, becoming gang related, disrespectful of my parents and elders and numerous other things. In Mark 8:36-38 I was not positioning myself to become in the company of God when I leave here or receive his blessings and favor on earth. I finally turned it around and so can you. If you feel that you are doing something that conflicts with your beliefs and knowledge of the Word of God you are becoming a victim of Identity Theft. In Hebrews 10:38-39 it tells of the just shall live by faith and not of perdition which what the enemy is. Assume and keep your Identity as a child of the King. I give God all the glory and honor for this teaching. Have a great weekend. Please join me for my teaching Monday called That's .........
