Catch-22

Good morning and Marvelous Monday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. he future is unlimited. As we continue on this the 195th day of the year in the month of Going Global In July based on Psalms 50:10-12, Mark 16:15-18 and 1st John 4:4-6 I want to share something with everyone. I am attending college via an online course. This semester I am taking a course that deals with the humanities. For this course you have to do a lot of reading on many many different things. I took the course before when I was younger but did not have the discipline then nor the patience to actually finish the course with a passing grade. In taking this course you have to remove yourself from certain feelings. The course does not allow for religious ideas because of the many different directions and thought processes dealing with the course. Being a man who loves God I find myself in a Catch 22 situation.
Some of might be saying what is a Catch 22. I will go to my source of definitions and that is Dictionary.com. The phrase Catch 22 means as follows; a frustrating situation in which one is trapped by regulation, a illogical
dilemma; and a condition preventing the resolution of a problem. We the people of faith have gotten into a Catch 22 situation as we cannot let go our religious things that seem to hold back the advancement the kingdom of God.
In going to the Word of God to see a Catch 22 situation I go to Matthew 5:33-37. In this passage Jesus who is the Son of God, is teaching to a multitude of people and one of his teachings this day is to not swear
at all. In religion we have gotten so attached to things such as having church on certain days but the enemy is busy each everyday. We are caught in a frustrating situation in which one is trapped by regulation. Religion has us in a Catch 22.
In looking in the Word of God for another Catch 22 example to Mark 3:1-6. In this passage the enemies of the Jesus, the ones who were stuck in tradition, were seeing how Jesus would handle a illogical dilemma. No
that he healed the man, but it was against traditions. The youth are not attending traditional service because of some still back in the day dress codes and things of that nature. Religion had placed the people of God in a Catch 22 situation.
In looking at the Word of God for the last example of Catch 22 is in 1st Corinthians 11:23-26. in teaching the people in Corinth Paul tells how the Jesus spoke of how to remember him by taking the Lord's Supper.
Religious tradition has made us think that the Lord's Supper is done once a month on the first Sunday of the month. We have a condition preventing the resolution of a problem as the world moves forward. We are in a Catch 22.
In closing we can come out these Catch 22 situations and further advance the Kingdom, Your church can be open up everyday or in the evening hours when help is really needed. We can set up programs for the youth that are not so rigid and regulated. We can begin social media campaigns globally so all can hear and see the teachings of God. In the passages I shared there was not one thing Jesus did that was traditional. He died and rose again not to change the law but to fulfill the law. In my class I may have to leave my religious ideas behind but God is going to be the head of my life always. No longer I am in a Catch 22. Can religion say that? Prayerfully one day soon. May God bless all those who read this and I give him all the glory and honor for this teaching. Please join me Friday for a teaching called Global Warfare. Have a great week.
