Acts of Boldness

Good morning and Happy Monday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. As we continue in the Acts of September based on Acts 1:7-8, 4:29-31 and 28:25-27 I remember when I applied for a security position at a transient hotel. I went in looking for a part-time position but came out with the title of Security/Hospitality Director. The hotel had a problem with drugs, prostitutes and people selling alcohol illegally. In order to make ends meet the hotel also had to rent out to those who were transitioning from mental institutions to back in society. Now there had been security groups who worked there before but were unable to move out the elements of crime or deal with the mental patients. But I was able to clear out the whole hotel by coming up with a approach that was never thought of and that was be positive but firm. It was a bold answer to a problem and even those who worked with me doubted. If you actually want real change you must do things completely different. You must have Acts of Boldness.
As in most of my blogs I want define the key word in the blog. The word I want to define in boldness and of course I go to my source of definitions and that is dictionary.com. Boldness means as follows;
not hesitating or fearful in the face of actual or possible danger; necessitating courage or daring; and beyond the usual limits of conventional thought or action. As a person of faith I have to not be fearful even though of possible danger. In order for change to happen I must be able to necessitate a courage to effect changes on how the gospel is viewed. And if change is to happen it can be limited to usual limits of conventional thought. In the next three paragraphs I will teach from the 4th chapter of Acts and finish with the base scripture to see some real Acts of Boldness.

In beginning the Acts of Boldness I go to Acts 4:5-12. In this passage Peter and John are speaking to the Sanhedrin council about the miracle they had done in Acts chapter 3. Peter and John are speaking
boldly about the how Jesus died for our sins. The reason they speak boldly is because they are filled with the Holy Spirit. If we want to challenge the way social media and religion operates we first must filled with the Holy Spirit and then we will not be hesitant or fearful in the face of danger. We can be the Acts of Boldness.

In the continuing in the Acts of Boldness I now go to Acts 4:13-22 the Sanhedrin Council are perplexed that these men from Galilee, ( a region considered not on the same level as Jerusalem ) are speaking to
them boldly. The man who they healed is right next to them so there is nothing they can do or say. In the areas of arts and entertainment, family and business it is necessary that be daring and courageous and effect changes in this area. With the Holy Spirit as our guide we will have the Acts of Boldness.
  In concluding the Acts of Boldness I finish with Acts 4:23-31 after being let go the two men continue to be bold and even prayed  together. They acknowledge that those who even had Jesus crucified had to
be anointed by God to do their assignment. The came together in prayer so tough they were able to shake the place where they were at, received the Holy Spirit and spoke even more boldly. As we look at our governments and our education systems we have to go beyond the usual limits thought of conventional wisdom. We are the Acts of Boldness.
In closing we have to be bold and start that social media outlet for the people of faith. we have to be be bold to step out the traditions and the shackles of religious traditions. We must be bold to start and support are on plays, movies or anything else that deals with arts and entertainment. We must be bold enough to strengthen the foundation of the family unit. We must be bold to open up faith based business and trust in God that it will succeed. We must be bold and email or mail or go visit our elected officials to change some things. And finally we must be bold enough to get involved on the fixing and turning around of the education systems wherever we live. Not hesitant or fearful of any danger. Necessitating courage and daring is needed. And going beyond the usual limits of conventional thought. We are children of God. Jesus came and died for all of our sins. We are filled with Holy Spirit. We can, will and we are the Acts of Boldness. May God have all the glory for this teaching. It almost makes me want to go to spiritual warfare. I want to thank Elder Roberta Coleman for teaching me how to teach on social media. Join me Friday for my last teaching for the month of Acts of September called Acts of Confidence.  Have a great week.
