Reign in your Favor

Good morning and Happy Monday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. As we continue to Reign in November based on Luke 19:13-14 I wanted to share something with you all. In 2009 I was working as a Doorman at a prestigious building in Chicago. I was one of the favorite of the residents as I gave them the best customer service I could give them which to me was the best in all the land. Although I worked at 175 W. Jackson full time I gave this building the same great service even as I worked part-time. My fame of a Doorman was going across all of the areas that needed a Doorman. Eventually when a replacement was going to be needed for a full time position I would be next in line. But in 2009 something happened that changed all that. I was suddenly removed from my position as a Doorman at the building and was told I could not come back. I had worked hard and had lost a position I had always wanted. Back then I questioned God about how this could happen. It is know 2012 and I know for a fact that if you believe in God he will Reign in your Favor.

In looking up the word favor I look at Dictionary.com to get the meaning. I see several meanings but for the purpose of this blog I am going to use only three. Favor means as follows; something done or granted out
goodwill, a kind act; excessive kindness or unfair partiality; and a gift bestowed as a token of kind regard, love etc. In being a Christian the things that God can not only reveal for us is awesome. God is watching over us and already knows what our thought process is ( Job 21:27 , Jeremiah 29:11 and Luke 11:17 ) and allows us free will. God does not force favor on no one. So when I lost the job as a Doorman as down as I was I still had a job so there was favor there already. But as believer of God I still had favor that I did not even know I had. In the next 3 paragraphs I will use three Biblical points along with what has happened to me as I have begun to Reign in Your favor.

In the Word of God I see many instances of favor but am only going use three. In Genesis 17:1-9 God makes a covenant with Abram. God grants him favor among all men and even changes his name from
Abram to Abraham. God establishes a kingdom with Abraham so that the generations that follows after Abraham will not only have kingdoms established but be able to reign in these kingdoms. Back in 2009 I did not understand the plan had for me. I know now that even though I loved working as a Doorman at that building it was a part time job. I had a full time job already at 175 W. Jackson. I was doing things to keep the part time job that was eventually affecting my full time job. I would switch shifts, work crazy hours and use vacation time to attempt to work at this building. And I had no time for God in my life as I did not honor him in any kind of way. In all of that God removed something from my life and saved my full time job. God something done or granted out goodwill, a kind act. God can reign in your favor at all times. Please understand that everyone.

In the next example of the Word of Reign in Your Favor I go to 2nd Kings 20:1-6 and Isaiah 38:1-6. It tells of how the great King Hezekiah was near death and he turned to the wall and asked God to spare his life.
God not only spared his life but added another 15 years and delivered him from the impending danger from his enemies. The reason I lost the Doorman position was because I had another do something for me that we commonly did. But in the process we did something that was not proper according to the building. When the Head Doorman saw it he basically took it to the property manager and we both lost our jobs. Although me and the other person regained other positions through favor the Head Doorman has struggled as his wife lost her job and income was lost out their household as it was lost out of mine. God was excessive kindness or unfair partiality as he looks out for those who is connected to him even at the time I still did not spend any time giving him honor. I still was able to Reign in your favor.

In my last example in the Word of God I am going to go to the book Luke. I am going to go to chapter 17:11-19. As we see in this passage that Jesus heals ten men of leprosy. In those times lepers were not
allowed to be part of society. So when Jesus healed them they were able to join society but they never thanked Jesus for this miracle except one who was not even considered one of Gods chosen people. Even though back in 2009 I did not honor or do work for God he still provided me favor. It is now 2012 and I am not at 175 W. Jackson no more. I am now working at a building as a Doorman right across the street from the original building I worked at and the original building has had trouble finding capable relief since I left. God can provide a gift bestowed as a token of kind regard, love etc. I am able to Reign in Your favor.
In closing the favor of God is obtainable even if you may not be doing anything for the Lord. Once you confess your sins you are always connected. In Psalms 37:11 and John 10:10 it tells of the abundance of favor we can expect as children of God. We walk in favor daily as we breathe air, able to walk and talk and have understanding. We walk in favor as we woke up this morning and are able to have a meal. We are able to have favor as we are able to attend school, work or go about are daily lives with no problems or worries. I am in school as well and received a A in my first course. I thank God that he allows me to Reign in his favor. To God be the glory. I am a writer for thegeekchicmag.com.
