Reign in November

Good morning and Happy Thursday. Brand new month. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. As begin another month I think back to a game we used to play when I was a youth. It was King of the Hill. In the game King of the Hill a person literally stood on a level of ground that was higher than ground level. That represented the hill as it most times was a mound of dirt or grass that we used for the so-called hill. In this game the object was to stay on top of the hill at the end of the game to be called King of the Hill. Most times we all followed the rules and allowed who ever was the one who was the on  top of the hill at the end of the day be the King until we returned to play the game again. On day I happened to win the game and I was happy I would occupy the title of King of the Hill until we played again. But one of the guys who played the game refused to acknowledge that I to occupy the title of King of the Hill until we played again because I believed in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. He left and never played with us again. This is happening today as the world refuses to recognize the power of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We as Christians need to Reign In November to show the world what an awesome God we serve.

The theme of Reign In November is based on Luke 19:13-14. In the scripture it tell of a noble man giving pounds or currency and told to occupy until he returns but the people hated him and refused to let him reign
over them. In looking up the word reign it means as follows; the period during which a sovereign occupies the throne; the royal rule or authority; the dominating power or influence, the  reign of law as an example. So in the world today we as believers of Christ have a mission to reign here on earth until he returns. But there are many people who refuse to allow that to happen even those who are Christians. Most of us consider our reign to be on Sunday or Wednesday or whatever day we go back to church. It is like we know that serving God is like working or eating at McDonald's but as soon as we get out of church we are like the Burger King and want to have things our way. We are the sovereign who are here to occupy the throne until Jesus returns. We have the Holy Spirit in us to have royal rule and authority for the world to see. We have Father God who is the dominating power that allows us to reign here on earth. Reign in November.

In the Word of God we are charged with reigning over  all and establishing the kingdom of God ( Matthew the 10th Chapter ) everywhere we go.So when God sees we are some times with our actions he refuses to
bless our kingdoms and in fact will put obstacles in your way until you actually return to him fully. In the book of Leviticus, which is a book of the laws, it tells us in verse 26:14-20 what happens when we do not follow the word of God all of the time. I want my life to be a constant so that the world can see what a mighty God I serve. How he turned my life around when I finally gave him control and allowed more of him and less of me. How God as the dominating power and influence, because his both of these things and a lot more, cured my Mother of cancer whereas there is no more. How he has cured others of many other afflictions and addictions in their lives. How he can be all that you need and even more than that. There has to be a time in our lives that we allow God to be who he is and let him handle not only the things that we cannot handle but things that maybe others cannot handle as well. We cannot afford to let God turns his back on us. I refuse to let my enemies let me flee from them when they are not even pursuing me. We must Reign in November.

In the Word of God there is another example of people who still refuse to let God reign in their lives. One of my favorite books of the Bible is 1st Samuel. In reading the word we see where Samuel is a great judge of
the people of God. But the people wanted to be like everyone else and wanted a king or someone to reign over them. In 1st Samuel 8: 6-9 it tells of the people not only rejecting Samuel but they were rejecting God as well when they rejected the voice of God sent through Samuel. With the Holy Spirit in us we are the royal rule and authority as God has given him to help us reign on earth. Many of us reject the guidance of the Holy Spirit and allow our own understanding to prevail but in the Word we are instructed to trust in the Lord ( Proverbs 3:5 ). The Holy Spirit is here to help and not hinder us a we establish our kingdoms here on earth. We must Reign in November.

In the Word of God we see where the coming of Jesus and his death and rising again has us now occupying the sovereign rule until he returns. We know that the first man sinned and caused all to be sinners as soon as
we enter the world ( Genesis 3:17-24 ). So we see in Romans 5:12-21 that Jesus offers a reign of righteousness and grace and eternal life if we just allow Jesus to reign in our lives. I cannot speak for others but when I think about how the Jesus has done so many great things not only in my life but in my families lives as well. Reign In November.
In closing we must take control and be proactive in our Reign In November in the areas of education, arts and entertainment, religion, media, business, government, and family.  We can make changes and must make changes in this areas because these are areas that are part of our daily life. In Exodus 15:18 it tells of God ruling for ever. In Numbers 11:17 it speaks of how the Holy Spirit can come upon you help you reign over your kingdom. In Revelations 20:4 it tells of even though persecuted here on earth you still have eternal life with Christ. Advance your kingdom. Occupy and use your talents. Do not be like the world and allow principalities and perdition to rule. Reign in November. Have a great month and weekend. To God be the glory. I am writer for thegeekchicmag.com.
