Blind at Bat

Good evening and Thankful Thursday As we come into end of the teachings for the month of Visually Impaired in August based on Job 29:11-16, Mark 8:22-25 and Revelation 3:14-19 if you take a look at my picture you may not notice one thing about me. Even those who have known me for a while may not know this. But my Father, Mother and siblings know this about me. I have poor eyesight and need to wear eyeglasses. Now when I was younger wearing glasses for people my age was trying. You had children tease you and call you four eyes or depending on the prescription, you may be called Mr. Magoo. So a lot of times I would "lose my glasses " or by "accident". This did my make my eyesight any better as the years have gone by. In my walk as a person of faith, a Christian man, there are times when I am needed to be glasses to those in the world who cannot see but I cannot help them if I am Blind as a Bat.
The wold is really in need of change. We have young men being victims of death by overzealous police tactics. We have people who see the fast way of making money as the only way to make
it by selling drugs, bodies or dancing for dollars. And there are others that see government as not being active enough to affect change. We the church, the Christians, the people of faith and cannot advance anyplace because we are as Blind as a Bat. This teaching will be based on Revelation 3:14-19, the last base scripture of the month.
In looking at the teaching of Blind as a Bat I go in the Word of God and Revelation 3:14-17. In this passage Jesus is speaking to the church of Laodicean. The members are neither hot or cold meaning
they are unable to lead one way or another. When there are things done wrongly by law enforcement there is the initial reaction, hot, and then the aftermath of nothing changing, cold. We as a people of God are not keeping the heat up. We seem to be Blind as a Bat.
In looking at the next example in the Word of God of being Blind as Bat I continue with Revelation 3:17. In this verse Jesus tell of how his people have gotten big headed and seem to need nothing
or any body to make them better. As those who sell drugs and their bodies continue to get lost in the cracks for our failure of inaction we are in a sense being Blind as Bat.
In looking at the last example of Blind as a Bat I go in the Word of God and to Revelation 3:18-19. In this passage Jesus tells the church that he wants them to change from the ways they are operating and
will help them see again. In order for change to really take affect it is going to have to take an effort combined by each and every church standing as one to heal the epidemic of being Blind as a Bat.
In conclusion there is much work to be done. Being as Blind as a Bat is not a permanent position. You have to know that if you cannot see you need the wear the glasses that God has given to you. Being Visually Impaired will not help those come to Christ. On my Facebook account I posted a about 1st Timothy 2:3-6. It speaks of one Mediator and that is Jesus and or responsibility in the sight of God. Or are we afraid to see. Being Blind as a Bat needs to end this month. I thank God for all that he has done for me and thank him for allowing Holy Spirit to enter in and for me to exit. Great job this month all. See you next week with the Theme of the Month.
