Don't Be Cruel

Good morning and Marvelous Monday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. As we continue in the month of Don't in April based on Judges 16;15-19, Jeremiah 26:12-15 and John 12:9-11 most of us have had a great time on yesterday. Reenactments, plays and fellowship celebrating Resurrection Sunday. We are in a good place as victories have been achieved on yesterday and we even had some great food. We have even started this day on a high note. Like that homeless man who kneels on the ground everyday on Jackson between Financial and LaSalle. We continue to walk past him. Or that you lady who we see walking up and down Michigan avenue between 105th and 110th streets. Or the drug dealers who constantly party in front of your house that you cannot sleep or more or less even have company. See now the things you celebrated yesterday you had gotten rid of are back already. That is what the devil wants and God does not. Don't Be Cruel.
In looking at the key word of cruel in this teaching I go to my source of definitions and that is dictionary.com. The word cruel means as follows; willingly or knowingly causing pain, enjoying the stress of others; and

unrelenting severe. There are some of us that treat coworkers and family harm by knowingly causing pain. There are others that enjoy the stress of others as they struggle to make ends meet. And then there are others who are unrelenting severe with criticism. If we want to be closer to God we have to stop this. Don't Be Cruel.
In looking at the Word of God of examples of Don't Be Cruel I go to 1st Samuel 8:1-9. In this passage Samuel, whose own sons are doing things to willingly causing pain by extorting the people, thinks that the
people have came against him asking for a king. But in treating Samuel in a way that would hurt him they exposed their own sins as they were doing things that were not pleasing to God. Don't Be Cruel.
In continuing in this teaching of Don't be Cruel I go to the Word of God and the book of Obadiah. In this book the descendants of Esau have come in and taken things from the land that God gave his children and
sat back and enjoyed their brothers stress at being taken over by an invader possibly the Philistines. God sees all and in latter verses (17-21) promises to have things come back to how there were before. Don't Be Cruel.
In looking at the last example of Don't Be Cruel in the Word of God I go to the book of Philemon. In this book Onesimus who is a former slave to Philemon has run away and also taken some things from Philemon.
In those days Onesimus could be killed doing something considered severe. But as he has made his way to Paul he has also found Christ to be his Savior and Paul sees this for a chance to help both men reunite. Don't Be Cruel.
In closing there are ways to stop willingly hurting people. You can try to help the situation by doing something to help that homeless man that you see or one who is in the same situation. We can stop enjoying the stress of others. We do not know why that lady is selling her body for but maybe if we communicate with her we can let her know there is a much better way. Lastly we may have be unrelenting on trying to help the drug dealer pick up the pieces of his life by telling him about Jesus before something severe such as death or jail happens in his life. Don't Be Cruel. These people can be any of us. I give God all the glory and honor for this teaching. Please join me Friday for my blog You Don't Know who Sent Me based on the second based scripture, Jeremiah 26:12-15. Have a great week all.
