When Do I Grow Up.

Good morning and Happy Sunday. Brand new week. Brand new attitude. The past is the past. The future is unlimited. As we continue in the month of When In June based on Psalms 73:3, Matthew 17:8 and 1st Corinthians 13:11 as I have my Mother pictured here on this blog I want share something with you all. In my 30's I was living with someone who could not drive and did not go no further than the South Side of Chicago. I drove and went all over Chicago but I worked in the downtown area of Chicago. At this time I worked the night shift at a job and had gotten involved with a married woman. Our jobs were our safe haven as her husband did not work downtown or even live in Illinois at all. But a funny thing happened while the married woman and I were hugged up downtown one day. The woman I was staying with named Tonia had a brother who saw me and the married woman and went and told his sister and from that point our relationship changed and we eventually broke up. Mind you I was in my 30's. There are things in my life that I still need to grow in but God is asking me, When Do I Grow Up ?
In looking up the key words in this blog, grow ad up I go to my source of definitions and that is course Dictionary.com. The word grow means as follows; to increase in natural development, to become
greater; and to expand. The word up means as follows; a more elevated position; above the horizon; and any point that is considered higher. God wants me to increase in natural development so I can be in a more elevated position to spread his Word. God wants me to become greater so I can spread his gospel above the horizon. And finally God wants his Word to expand through me to any point that is considered higher. In the next three paragraphs I will give examples of how the people acted like children along with using the base verse of 1st Corinthians 13:11 as a key point in each paragraph.

In the first example of When Do I Grow Up I go to Genesis 37:18-20. In this passage we see where the brothers of Joseph have conspired to kill his dream even though he is their brother. In 1st Corinthians
13:1-4 Paul speaks of spiritual gifts that mean nothing without love. In looking at myself I have dreams but have not fulfilled them because of a lack of real love for God. I need to increase my development in love so people can see God thru me and see that he can take me to a more elevated position. When Do I Grow Up?

In looking at When Do I Grow Up I go to the book of Obadiah. In this book Odadiah talks of how the people of Edom have done wrong against their own people and how God was not pleased. In 1st
Corinthians 13:5-8 we see where Paul speaks love being present even when other things fail us. Our families may fail us but we still must have that love to become greater in what God has for us so we can take his Word to a greater horizon. When Do I Grow Up?

In looking at the last example of When Do I Grow Up I go to John 14:22. In this passage Judas ( not the betrayer ) ask Jesus a question and Jesus tells him that he will able to grow in many ways as a comforter
the Holy Spirit will come. But Jesus also talks about love in this passage as well. In 1st Corinthians 13:9-10 Paul speaks about even though we have gifts when Jesus returns the gifts are needed no more but the love is always going to be there. God wants us to expand so his Word can be consider at any point higher than anything.  When Do I Grow Up.
In closing I want us all to believe in our dreams and how they can be accomplished When We Grow Up. When you increase in God you can open that business, advance education and religion ideas and have it at a elevated position. God wants us to become greater in our families and our government so people can see that he does take things to a greater horizon. And finally God wants to expand our ideas in social media and arts and entertainment so that we take his Word higher. I gave God all the glory and the honor for this blog and ask that God bless all those who read this. My Mother often wondered When I would Grow Up. I am still a work in progress. Happy Birthday Mother. Please join me for next blog called When We Look To Jesus. Close out the month strong.

  1. Thank God Fred for all of us seeing the need for growth because of Him. Thank God for the scales continuing to fall from our eyes so we can see clearly how we need Him to help us daily. Thank God for your growing!
