Good morning and Happy Friday. As we continue in the month of It Shall in October based on Joshua 8:1-2, Zechariah 2:8-9, and Luke 1:30-33 I want to talk about my Dad and my Uncle Sonny. These two men worked at Ford Motor Company over 30 years along with my Uncle Johnny and for a while my Uncle Lee. Although my Uncle Johnny worked along with my Dad and Uncle Sonny my Dad and Uncle Sonny worked as welders and did not work directly on the line. Being in the Maintenance department they were able to work many and long hours. They worked 7 days a week and sometimes 16 hours a day. In working these hours they were able to prosper not because of all the overtime hours but for their faithful love of God. We as a people of faith can have success when we put all of our faith in God. At times things may look bleak but with hard work and determination the little you think you may have, It Shall Prosper.
In looking up the key word in this blog I go to Dictionary.com The word prosper means as follows; to be successful, to thrive, and to flourish. Many times we the people of faith think that we are not
supposed to be successful in arts and entertainment and social media, We think that we cannot thrive in government, education or religion. And we also think that we cannot flourish in business and family if we trust in God. In Genesis 26:12-13 it gives an example on how prosperous we can be. . So we can be successful, thrive and flourish financially as well. I the next three paragraphs I will show in the Bible how three people prospered.
In looking at the first example of It Shall Prosper I look in the Word of God and to Esther 2:15-18. in this passage the woman formerly known as Hadassah ( verse 7 ) came from humble beginnings and
becomes a queen over a group of people that most times sought to oppress her people. You can overcome humble positions like my Dad and Uncle Sonny and have that poetry show come to life or as many more people are using, writing blogs. You can be successful not matter what any one says. When you trust in God It Shall Prosper.
In my next example of It Shall Prosper I look in the Word of God and go to Job 42:10-17. In this passage Job after having lost everything ( Chapter 1 ). he has regained double what he had. At times
when we are trying to change laws or how our children are educated or even rescind some of the things that religion has bound we think that God has forsaken us. We can thrive even in the worst circumstances. But never give up hope because It Shall Prosper.
In the last example of It Shall Prosper I look in the Word of God and go to Luke 16:19-26 and we see where Jesus is telling a parable about the rich man and Lazarus. How on earth that Lazarus never thought he could fulfill any
dreams of flourishing in your own business or having your family becoming as one unit but he was rich because he had eternal life promised. Lazarus was rich because of his faith in God. God did not put us here on this earth to not be able to have great things. It Shall Prosper if you believe.
In closing God wants us all to prosper. He tells us in Isaiah 55:11-12 how we can just speak his word how we all can prosper. Jesus speaks of a kingdom in Luke 12:21. And in 1st Peter 2:9-10 is tells of how we are a royal people. Queen Esther, Job and Lazarus the beggar all achieved great things. My Father and my Uncle Sonny are waiting on their first big cut of trees to sell to make paper on their vast amount of land that God allowed them to purchase. It Shall Prosper for them and their descendants. In each picture I posted in this blog from the ones with my Mom and Dad, my Aunt Lu and Uncle Sonny, my Dad and Uncle, the Wesley men, and the men from my old church 2nd Mt. Vernon all had prospered, are prospering or will prosper. For we all believe in what God has for us here on earth as well as heaven. I give God all the honor and glory for this teaching.
